MECA FACULTY EXHIBITION 2004
GALLERY
Maine College of Art is proud to showcase the work of selected
faculty members in an upcoming exhibition. The Institute
of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art will feature
faculty work from the Art History, Ceramics, New Media,
Photography, Painting and Woodworking departments. The show
opens on January 24 and continues through February 28 with
an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on January 29.
Participating faculty, in alphabetical order: Marian Baker,
Lucy Breslin, Tracey Cockrell, Jane Critchlow, John Eide,
Sean Foley, Cathy Hammond, Matt Hutton, Mark Johnson, Jamie
Johnston, Jo Ann Jones, Iain Kerr, Justin Kirchoff, George
LaRou, Laura Lisbon, Honour Mack, Elizabeth Olbert, Peter
Shellenberger, Michelle Trudo and Gan Xu.
Selected artists talk about their work from noon to 1 p.m.
on February 4, 13, 18 and 27.
Also, the Art History department has organized a series
of talks in contemporary visual culture on Thursdays from
noon to 1 p.m.

and Rhizome Thought"
Feb 5: Alison Ferris, Curator, Bowdoin College Museum of
Art: "Visual Culture and Curatorial Practices"
Feb 12: Aimeé Bessire: "African Power Objects
in Shifting Contexts"
Feb 19: Chris Thompson: "Making Felt: Notes on Old
Media."
Feb 26: Open Discussion Session
The ICA at MECA is located at 522 Congress Street. Hours
of operation are Wednesday through Sunday, 11a.m. to 5 p.m.
and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On the first Friday
of the month, the hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
