undergraduate admissions

application requirements
There is still time
for you to apply to Maine College of Art!
MECA welcomes students to apply on a rolling
admissions basis, and applications for admission are reviewed
throughout the year. Our priority deadline for fall admission is February 1.
Each new student adds immeasurably to the
vibrancy of our community. Applications are evaluated individually,
with consideration given to the strength of the portfolio
as well as academic achievement. Anyone graduating from high
school or earning the equivalency may apply for admission.
MECA's community is as diverse and unique
as each individual student. If you are currently enrolled
at another college, you are welcome to apply and join our
thriving population of transfer students. Students who are
not presently in school or who are working full time are also
encouraged to apply, and applicants not seeking a BFA degree
may apply for special student status. MECA encourages individuals,
including international students, who will contribute to the
diversity of its student body to apply.
Financial aid and merit-based scholarships
are available, and over 90% of our students receive financial
assistance. If you plan on applying for need-based financial
aid, we encourage you to complete the FAFSA (Free Application
for Federal Student Aid) if you have not done so already.
The application is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
If you have questions about applying for financial aid, please
