Deborah Wing-Sproul, Assistant Professor
Deborah Wing-Sproul works across the disciplines of performance art, video, photography, installation, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. Co-founder of pfvac (Portland Film and Video Artists Collective). Performer for Marina Abramovic's 2010 retrospective at MoMA: "The Artist Is Present". Recent solo exhibition: "Water, Algae, Ice: Works from Tidal Culture I, II, III and IV (Maine, Newfoundland, Greenland and Iceland)", Housatonic Museum of Art, Bridgeport, CT. Recent group exhibitions: "Rehearse, Rewind, Repeat", Seigfred Gallery, Ohio University, Athens; "H2O: Film on Water", Curator Denise Markonish (Mass MoCA); "Overlap" a performance collaboration with Ling-Wen Tsai, The Month of May performance series, NYC; "one/another", video collaboration with Ling-Wen Tsai, SPACE Gallery, Portland, ME, Tampopo Art Space, Tainan County Taiwan and Festival Images Contre Nature, Marseilles, France; "Beyond Printmaking", Landmark Arts, Texas Tech University School of Art, Lubbock, TX. Wing-Sproul has received numerous awards and grants for her ongoing, itinerant, cross-disciplinary work: Tidal Culture (2004-).
