2009 Alumni Biennial

September 2 - October 18, 2009

Maine College of Art invites all Alumni who hold a BFA, MFA, Diploma, or Honorary degree to submit a proposal for an alumni exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art at MECA. The 2009 MECA Alumni Biennial will maintain the new structure of a biannual exhibition that focuses on the work of 3-5 alumni artists. The new format will allow cohesive bodies of work to be exhibited in the ICA.

Additionally, an Alumni Archive will be created as an ongoing resource for curators, galleries, and collectors. This year the archive will exist online in order to provide wider viewing access. Selections from the archive will also be displayed in the Alumni Gallery on the MECA website. All submissions received will be automatically entered into the Alumni Archive.

Proposals are due by 5:00pm on January 5, 2009. All works submitted must have been completed within the last 3 years. All proposals must be submitted through our new online application. Visit alumnishow.meca.edu for more information and to apply.
