Christopher Stiegler, Visiting Professor
Chris Stiegler is an art historian and curator living in Portland Maine. He has founded two projects; Town Hall Meeting and The Institute for American Art. Town Hall Meeting was a collaborative effort that produced symposiums, museum tours, and lectures.The Institute for American Art borrows its model from major art establishments, though it is based in his private living quarters. Beginning in December Stiegler will begin a six month curatorial residency at Flux Factory, an artist run non-profit space in Queens, New York. As a teacher he has focused on historiography, criticism of the contemporary, and 20th century art history. Chris holds a BA in Art History and Printmaking from the University of Delaware and a Master of Modern Art, Connoisseurship, Market History from Christie's Education.
