We seek an organized, service-oriented Circulation Coordinator to join the Joanne Waxman Library. This role is ideal for a library professional passionate about supporting students, faculty, and staff through excellent library service and effective collection management.
Position Overview
The Circulation Coordinator oversees the daily circulation and collection maintenance operations at the Joanne Waxman Library. Key responsibilities include managing the circulation desk, supervising student workers, processing library materials, and assisting patrons with library resources. Working closely with the library team, this role ensures that circulation services align with the College’s mission to support student success and promote lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Circulation Services: Manage all circulation services, including interlibrary loans, equipment checkout, and course reserves.
- Collection Maintenance: Oversee the integrity of the library’s collections, including cataloging and maintaining serials and course reserves.
- Supervision: Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise student workers to ensure smooth library operations.
- Customer Service: Provide reference assistance and respond to patron inquiries, ensuring a positive library experience.
- Policy Implementation: Develop and implement policies and procedures that support circulation services in collaboration with library staff.
- Data Management: Track, analyze, and maintain circulation statistics and participate in long-term library planning.
- Community Engagement: Liaison to departments, faculty, and students, promoting library resources, programs, and services.
What We’re Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a library or information science field.
- 2+ years of library experience, preferably in higher education.
- A plus is familiarity with an art and design school environment or the arts community.
- Supervisory experience, with skills in team management and training.
- Proficiency in library software (Sierra), Google Workspace, and data management tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, inclusive environment.

Salary Range: $45,000 to $50,000 annually ($21.63- $24.04/hour)
