About

The Alumni Professional Development Series is a monthly virtual series designed to support MECA&D alumni as they navigate the professional landscape. Artists at Work staff and guest speakers lead sessions on topics such as networking, grants and residency applications, resumes and CVs, financial planning, and other essential professional skills. Current students are also welcome to participate.

    More Time on Art, Less Time on Bullsh*t: Cash Flow Planning for Artists & Creatives with Jaden Kyung-Moon Bauch ’25

    Join Artists at Work and Jaden Kyung-Moon Bauch ’25 for a Zoom presentation focusing on cash flow and how creatives earn, invest and save. This presentation will cover topics such as: ethical investing, the income ceiling, building multiple streams of income, sequence of returns risk, and ultimately why investing is important for artists.

    Are you struggling to keep yourself organized? Wanting to find a new way to structure your workflow? Still figuring out how to juggle calendars and to-do lists for your personal and professional life? This is for you!

    Join Jillian Impastato (Artists at Work) and Laura Jourdan Palmer (Writing Center) for an interactive workshop where we will explore several time management tools and techniques that you can apply to your own professional practice.

    October Alumni Professional Development Session: Applying to and Selling at Markets

    Have you ever thought about selling your artwork at a market, fair, or craft show?

    Join artist and jeweler, Shelby Goldsmith ’14 to learn how to get started, how to decide which markets are a good fit, and scaling your booth and operation.
