Dwellers: Above & Below

A land art exhibition at LongWoods Preserve

Dwellers: Above & Below is a land art exhibition presented by Professor Ling-Wen Tsai’s “Sculpture in Context” course at Maine College of Art & Design (MECA&D). Artists included: Sally Ames, Taylor Cookson, Eddie Davis, Clio Evans, June Herrick, Anastasia Jackson, Bridget Lincoln, Aydan Rodriguez, Perci Schumacher, Azure Wood.

Nestled into a hemlock grove at the LongWoods Preserve, this “Land Art” project features ten site-specific works by students from various disciplines. Starting from the concept of “dwellings”, each student formed their own conceptual approach and choice of materials in realizing their visions. At the same time, each artist was challenged to fit their work in one small “bankers'” box. This free, fun, and family-friendly exhibition can be accessed via the trailhead at the WANDER at LongWoods parking lot. Plenty of parking is available. LongWoods Preserve is open to the public 365 days a year. All are welcome.
