Join the Maine College of Art & Design's Animation & Game Art Department and Student Life for the Second Annual Animation & Film Festival!
Due to last year’s sold-out show, this year’s festival will be held at Mechanic’s Hall Ballroom across the street from MECA&D to accommodate a larger crowd!
Featuring original submissions from Maine College of Art & Design students across the College, including 2D and 3D animation, experimental live-action, animatics, stop-motion animation, video game playthroughs, and more, guests will view the submissions, participate in live-voting and applaud the award winners!
Films were selected by a curatorial team comprised of Isaac Kestenbaum, Director of the Salt Institute of Documentary Studies; Carly Peruccio, Assistant Director of Joanne Waxman Library; Starr Miller, Assistant Director of Student Life - Student Engagement and Belonging; and Amelia Garretson-Persans, Animation and Game Art Faculty and Film Festival Coordinator.
Films will be judged by a jury of MECA&D alums in a variety of categories. Audience members will also have an opportunity to vote for their favorite film with the People’s Choice Award!
Open to the Public. Tickets are $5 for students and $15 for the general public.
No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Proceeds will support field trips to high-profile professional events for Animation & Game Art students.
