Addison de Lisle ’11 Receives 2025 Maine Artist Fellowship

Addison de Lisle ’11 is among seven exceptional Maine artists awarded the 2025 Maine Artist Fellowship by Maine Arts Commission.

The Maine Artist Fellowship is a prestigious, merit-based award recognizing creativity, artistic vision, and dedication across various disciplines. Each fellow receives a $5,000 unrestricted award to support and advance their artistic career as they see fit. Fellowships are not grants for artist projects; they are merit-based awards evaluated by a review panel based on the artistic creativity and vision shown in the artists’ support materials.

Addison de Lisle obtained his BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry from Maine College of Art & Design in 2011. After graduating, he apprenticed with Wilson Forge on Little Deer Isle, Maine, from 2012-2014. In 2014, he was awarded a one-year fellowship in fine metalwork at the Fondation de Coubertin in France. Following this program, he enrolled in the graduate program for Blacksmithing and Metalsmithing at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale and received his MFA in 2018. He has attended numerous workshops and residencies around the country.

As a Maine Artist Fellow, Addison can expect an unrestricted award to help advance his career as he sees fit. The Maine Arts Commission will host Addison’s artist bio on their website and include it in all digital publications. His activities will be promoted and communicated throughout the year. Addison will also have the opportunity to attend a Fellowship Reception with Maine Arts Staff and Commissioners at the Blaine House in early 2025 and participate in networking and other collaborative opportunities throughout the year.
