Amy Parker is the Executive Design Director and Co-founder of Woods Creative, a research and design firm, located in Boston and Portland, Maine. At Woods she leads creative strategy, ideation, and digital design to make communication solutions, digital products, and visual languages for brands spanning Fortune 500s to NASDAQ traded tech companies to non-profit and arts organizations.
Amy's work reflects her experience as a designer in Bühler, Switzerland, in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, art director in Boston, and executive design director in Portland, ME + Greater Boston, with the co-founding of her own agency in 2014. In addition, she serves on the AIGA Boston board of directors as Vice President, and currently serves as SPACE’s board President in Portland.
Amy began teaching one class each semester at MECA&D in 2021 after regular critic invitations and positive interactions with hiring MECA&D students as interns at Woods. She finds being involved in emerging designers' lives at the College in the adjunct capacity as a vital contribution for the future of the graphic design field in New England. Students make her a better communicator, practitioner, and active participant in the local design community.
