Christine Caswell is a ceramic artist and educator based in Portland, Maine. She holds an MFA in Ceramics from the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology and has taught for over 20 years. Christine is on the Visual Arts faculty at Waynflete School, mentoring young artists, and manages the clay center at Running with Scissors Artist Studios. Her practice, shaped by residencies at Sanbao Studios in China and Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts in Maine, focuses on wheel-thrown porcelain forms that explore the relationship between pattern, surface, and space—balancing careful craftsmanship with a curiosity about form and design. Recognized with a Juror’s Choice Award at The State of Clay, she also leads youth workshops, including programs at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.
