Deb has a background in teaching and environmental and ocean sciences. Torn between becoming a scientist, engineer, or teacher, she found a way to combine her passions. Deb loves sharing her enthusiasm for the interconnectedness of nature and exploring ways to improve humanity’s relationship with the ocean. In addition to teaching science at Maine College of Art & Design, Deb is active in marine education and conservation organizations, such as Friends of Casco Bay and Gulf of Maine Marine Education Association. She enjoys presenting about teaching science at MECA&D to informal and formal educators. Other interests include family life, skiing, composting, dogs, poetry, hiking, biking, fiddle, and sailing.
