Professor George LaRou '88 has been a Faculty member since 1990 and served as a Program Chair for 24 years. He has developed accredited BFA programs in New Media, Digital Media, and Animation & Game Art. George also maintains a media design practice and has produced work for large and small clients locally, nationally, and internationally. He has designed and built websites, interactive media, and games. Some clients of note include: Walker Art Center, Colors Magazine, Lucas Film, Timberland, MTV online, WWE, Dreamworks Records, and Fairpoint Communications. A portion of his work has been serious, corporate, in service to the brand, and highly functional, but a significant amount has been odd, challenging, playful, silly, or weird, and falls into the catch-all of "experimental media." A collection of his explorations in interactivity is in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Permanent Archive. Recently, he has been exploring mobile games and has distributed work through Google Play.
