Dr. Kunde brings a broad history of teaching experience—including Peace Corps, extensive high school and International Baccalaureate, and the college classroom. A scholar of 19th and early 20th century American literature and a critical race theorist, Sharon trains the eye on its colonial foundations from the lens of a Black feminist ecopoetics.
Sharon Kunde most recently held an ACLS Emerging Voices postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University's Franklin Humanities Institute from 2022 - 2024 and an ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship from 2016 - 2017. Her articles and poems have appeared in venues including ISLE, Twentieth-Century Literature, the Harvard Review, the Cincinnati Review, the LA Review of Books, and the LA Times. Dancing Girl Press published her chapbook Year of the Sasquatch in 2022.
