All students at Maine College of Art & Design registered for 9 or more credits are required to be covered by a health insurance policy that is valid in Maine.
On your billing statement there is a charge for mandatory health insurance. If you have your own health insurance, you can opt out of the Maine College of Art & Design sponsored insurance plan by waiving the insurance online. The Wellfleet site will open for waivers for the 2024-2025 academic year in June of 2024.
- First, you'll need to create an account on the site using your student email and student ID number (less any leading zeros).
- Once you've created your account, you may need to log out and then back in to refresh the site.
- Once you're logged in, you can choose the option to waive and submit your health insurance documents for approval.
Waivers need to be completed as soon as possible, and no later than September 10, 2024. Waivers are reviewed once a week and then the charge is deducted from your billing statement.
