Announcing the 2026 Belvedere Fund Recipients

MECA&D's 17th Year of Craft Funding Supports Five Distinguished Alumni

Maine College of Art & Design is pleased to announce the 2026 recipients of the Belveedere Grant. Five BFA alumni working in a craft methodology were awarded the grants after a competitive review by the Dean of the College, two BFA faculty members, one member of the crafts community, and one member of the Artists at Work office. Amongst other criteria, the most important factor in selection was the demonstration that this grant will assist the alumni's professional growth.

This year's recipients include:

Abigail Sprague '25, Metalsmithing & Jewelry Design

Allie Stack '16, Ceramics

Gillian Doty '16, Ceramics

Haven Douglas '19, Textile & Fashion Design

Pheobe Zildjian '20, Metalsmithing & Jewelry

The Belvedere Fund was established in 2008 in memory of Deborah Pulliam of Castine, Maine, and is available to all alumni who received a BFA degree in the field of crafts from the College within the last 10 years. Deborah was a lover of history, land preservation, animal welfare, and the arts, and she supported many causes generously throughout her life.
